Can Vertuo Nespresso Machines Make Hot Water?

If you’ve got one of the newer Vertuo Nespresso machines, then getting a cup of hot water is a bit more difficult.

Yes, it can be done, but you may not like the process.

The reason why it is so difficult to just make hot water with a Vertuo Nespresso machine is because the machine is designed to read a barcode on the pod in order to function.

When you try to run the Vertuo Nespresso machine without pod, you end up with that blinking red light and it won’t work for you the same way as the OriginalLine above.

Fortunately, there is a work around here – it’s using the cleaning cycle.

You see, when you clean the Vertuo Nespresso machine, it will run hot water through the machine without a pod inside it.

The catch is that if you don’t regularly clean your machine, then that cup of water is not something you’ll wish to drink.

So, first, run the clean cycle to literally clean the machine.

Then, once clean, run it again to get your cup of hot water.

If the water is still not clear, then just re-run the clean cycle until you do get clear water in your cup.

While this is not a perfect solution, you will eventually get that cup of hot water from your Vertuo Nespresso machine.
