Are you a fan of White Claw, but prefer to save a little cash and get the Kirkland brand of hard seltzer from your local Costco?
Me too!
Since so many well known brands are behind the Kirkland products, I wanted to know just who is making Costco’s Kirkland Hard Seltzer.
Patco Brands makes Kirkland Hard Seltzer for Costco.
This brand is based out of Hood River, Oregon.

Well, you’re in luck if you have a Costco card!
Kirkland Hard Seltzer currently comes in four different flavors:

- Grapefruit
And yes, I did list those in order of my preference of best tasting to worst tasting!

As you likely already know, hard seltzers are a relatively low alcohol content type of drink.

Hard seltzers are always one of those things that are hard to classify, since it often depends on how and what the beverage is made from.
The Kirkland Hard Seltzer from Costco is a listed on the box as ‘spiked sparkling water with natural flavors,’ which is really just marketing speak for a fizzy alcoholic drink.
Costco’s Kirkland Hard Seltzer is made from a fermented sugar base, which technically classifies it as a beer.

I don’t really see much of a difference between White Claw and Kirkland Hard Seltzer.
Both have similar flavors, calories, ingredients, and taste.
If you enjoy one, then I think you will enjoy the other.
The big difference between Kirkland Hard Seltzer and White Claw is the price. White Claw is $13.99 for a 12-pack and Kirkland Hard Seltzer is $17.99 for a 24-pack.
Here’s what one die-hard White Claw fan had to say about the Kirkland hard seltzer –
Former White Claw purist/junkie here.. my gf brought a case of these home the other day and, HALLELUJAH!! They are BETTER than White Claws! The flavors just taste better and fresher, and they go down just as smooth, crisp and refreshing. And at $17.99 for a 24 pack, which is actually LESS than the price of a White Claw 12 pack, it’s a no brainer! Just stocked up on 4 cases.. wallet happy.. liver, not so much🤪

Kirkland Hard Seltzer vs High Noon
If you really like High Noon, then Kirkland Hard Seltzer is likely going to be a bit of a disappointment for you.
Here’s what one fan of High Noon has to say about it on Reddit –
In a perfect world Costco would make its own version of High Noon. Was never a fan of white claw, truly etc but love me some High Noon tho.

Kirkland Hard Seltzer Review
You already know that we enjoy this hard seltzer from Costco, but don’t take our word for it
Here’s a review we found on YouTube.
All the flavors of Kirkland Hard Seltzer taste fake to me, which makes sense as they contain no juice. I much prefer High Noon, but my State imposes a ridiculous liquor tax on them, so my go to lately has been San Juan Seltzers. And in my opinion, White Claw is one of the worst tasting hard seltzers I’ve tried.
